Thanks for sharing this with us, you sure are paying forward. My tool of choice may be screwdrivers and a voltmeter, but there is so much you share that helps me
Great nod to NM. Love his work. Did you implement his quarterly seminar process early in your career to get your business to the &1m mark in such short time? Enjoying your notes so far. Thanks.
"That this caveat has to be said is an unfortunate by-product of our age – that anything less than sycophantic tribalistic fawning is misconstrued, or put better, widespread appreciation for one’s work and impact is assumed to be sycophantic tribalistic fawning."
I deeply appreciate this quote! You've verbalized a frustration that I couldn't quite adequately qualify.
And to add on, now that I've read the whole thing, thanks for writing this! It is very helpful.
Thanks David, I appreciate the honesty. My son is learning about investment stuff so I’m passing your work off to him in hopes that his future will be bright on all fronts.
Agreed. i was lucky enough to find Mr. Murray early in my career (2002-03) and consider him to be the greatest mentor a young advisor could ask for. Truly and honestly, i owe him a debt that cannot be repaid for producing content that guided myself and clients though many difficult and confusing times throughout the years.
Thank you David for this great post about our mutual sage Nick Murray. I hope you can post here the books you are reading and develop an essential books for advisor’s library like Nick has done over the years. Your fellow seeker of wisdom, John Wigington.
Absolutely agree. Nick has been my North Star for a lot of years, and continues to inspire and educate both me and my clients.
