David, excited to be a part of your new venture. I was introduced to your work through your dividend growth book which I enjoyed. I am also a financial advisor who transitioned to this sector later in my business life than yourself----dividends being the cornerstone of my investment philosophy. Investing was my hobby which then grew into my profession and enjoyment. I enjoy your financial perspective and look forward to more via this new vehicle.
Hello, Mr. Bahnsen! I’m currently a 27-year old broker (and aspiring financial planner) at Charles Schwab! I found you through listening to a podcast you did with Apologia Radio years ago and have since listened to every Dividend Cafe and many Capital Record episodes and have also read through a couple of your books. I cannot tell you how much God has used your resources to teach me to be a harder worker, better financial professional, and a stronger Christ follower. Thank you for all the time you put into your resources, I look forward to growing more from them!
So glad you decided to start a Substack. Been following you for a couple of years, I may be a blue collar guy, but the things you talk about transcends and intersects with mine in so many ways. Look forward to more on this platform from you.
When I joined Morgan Stanley in 2013, they had an internal blog platform you wrote on consistently. I'd kill for copies. (The name eludes me. Do you recall?)
Your writing was a gift to me at the time. I look forward to what you are creating here. If it is anything like what you were doing then, we'll all be better for it.
It is good that God has placed men like you in the financial industry. I have been a skilled labourer most of my my life and my wife is a teach for an online Christian school. We have done ok, never gone hungry and the kids enjoyed their lives with what was provided. I’m not old, old if that makes sense, but I certainly did not do well for my wife and kids in providing more. Sure I loved my kids, worked hard but at the end of the day working for money just never worked. Call me stupid or lazy just couldn’t get that part of my life going. I’m still thinking of trying to run something to pass on. Thanks again for the inspiration David. Loved your dad’s work too. Blessing brother
Pleased you showed up in my feed. I brought my SMU class and its principles to Substack 3 years ago. PWM and middle market planning is ripe for new ideas. Integrating with economics based planning is next level. Will reach out.
Thanks, David! I’m a fairly recent retiree and your Dividend Cafe keeps me sane amidst all the noise around investing, particularly now that I’ve entered the e distribution phase and want to preserve as much capital as possible while not shorting myself and the missus during our “go-go” years.
